Gulliver's Travels | 5x7 Fine Art Print | Limited Edition
This classic fairy tale styled illustration is my own rendition of The Rats of Brobdingnag, a scene from Gulliver's Travels. From the art style to the color palette, I chose to mirror those beautiful fairy tale illustrations from the Golden Age of Illustration, late nineteenth to mid-twentieth century. Walter Crane, Beatrix Potter, Arthur Rackham, Edmund Dulac, these were the artists who influenced my imagination as a child.

About My Fine Art Prints
I print all my fine art prints myself in my studio with a 9 ink giclée quality wide format Epson printer. Each print is individually inspected to assure the highest possible quality, both as an art print and an accurate representation of my original artwork.
Stock will always be low as I only make a few of these prints at a time. Each number is recorded until I reach a total of 25 prints, then a new edition will begin.
Prints consist of an archival matte paper with exceptional detail retention for a museum quality reproduction and lightfast ink for up to 200 years. For longest lasting results, please display this item framed behind glass.
Certificate of Authenticity
These are my own personal reproductions. Each of my fine art prints feature a Certificate of Authenticity or 'Print Plate' adhered to the back with an archival glue. These print plates are hand made themselves, stamped by hand and embossed on an archival parchment tone paper.
The slight variations and imperfections on each Print Plate creates an item that is truly unique and virtually impossible to counterfeit. The title, medium, and specified print number are hand written, and each Print Plate is signed and limited to a total of 25 prints per edition.
The Rats of Brobdingnag
After their ship was blown off course, Gulliver and his shipmates began to explore an unknown island in search of water and supplies for repair. It wasn't long before Gulliver, having become separated from the rest of the crew, began to feel a gnawing suspicion that this island was inhabited by no ordinary creatures. An island of giants! What adventure! What horrors! What huge rats who would have eaten him alive as he slept had he not the hanger at his side! Oh the lady of the house was distraught as she returned to find her tiny guest in such a state, with one rodent foe vanquished and kicked to the floor while the other fled.
Artist’s Note
I really do love rats and I apologize to rat lovers everywhere for this gruesome scene. I promise you, no rodents were harmed in the creation of this painting. But there was no way I was drawing a giant man with a zillion tiny people. That scene has been done to death. A dashing little Gulliver fighting two fearsome rodents on a bedspread was just too good an image to pass up!
